Make Up by HD Brows Creative Director, Francesca Neill, beautified Alesha Dixon for the first round of Britain’s Got Talent auditions.
Alesha’s look was all about contouring and making the skin glow, which is a popular trend seen amongst celebrities and on the catwalks for S/S15. Earlier this week we caught with Francesca to ask how she created this impeccable look and how you too can create it at home;
Step 1 – Before I start any make up look I always make sure I prep the skin by using a good quality moisturiser. Good skin and good brows are key to any beauty look, so don’t forget to book in with your local HD Brows stylist to ensure your brows are in shape and ready to define. You can find your local stylist.
Step 2 – As I did the HD Brows treatment on Alesha the night before the auditions, her brows were looking perfect so they didn’t need much make up application. My top tip would be to always remember to keep the brows natural, we don’t want them to look overdone. To give the brow some definition I added a touch of the Foxy Eye & Brow Palette, which is the perfect shade for those with medium toned hair and/or skin.
Step 3 – I then used the Conceal & Correct Palette with the Concealer Brush under the eyes to hide any blemishes. The great thing about this palette is the fact it has 3 shades so you can custom-blend to make the perfect tone to match your skin.
Step 4 – To prep the eyes I used the Eye Primer in Latte (the darkest shade) and blended the Foxy Eyeshadow Palette, in golden, on the lid and slightly underneath the eye. I always stress how important it is to use an Eye Primer as it will ensure make up stays in place all day – plus it is great for those who find their eyeshadow creases or comes off easily.
Step 5 – To add definition to the eye I used a dark brown liner along the top lash line, you can use the creamy Kajai in Rich Brow which is super easy to apply and gives off. I then added the Foxy Flaux Lashes which are perfect if you like a wispy eyelash look, along with a sweep of your favourite mascara.
Step 6 – I used the Fluid Foundation and really buffed this in to the skin using the Kabuki Brush to create a really natural glowing finish. I then used the Illuminator and Bronzer to give the skin even more luminosity and definition – pairing these two products together is the perfect combination for a home-made contour kit.
Step 7 – To finish off the skin I added a touch of Finishing Powder to the T-Zone to set the make up in place, and then applied a light sweeping of the Punch Powder Blush to the cheeks – I love this peachy tone and use it on a lot of my celebrity clients.
Step 8 – I really wanted Alesha’s lips to pop and look fresh, so I used a bold pink shade but you can use whichever colour you like to create a similar bold look. You can also add a hint ofLip Gloss if you want the lips to really stand out and shine.
So there you have it, eight simple steps is all it takes to create Alesha’s jaw-dropping make up look.
